Major network subscribers in Kano have bemoaned the city’s inadequate phone and internet connectivity.

Speaking in separate interviews on Tuesday in Kano, the subscribers claimed the circumstances had brought them immense suffering.

Subscriber Moses Isiyaku bemoaned his recent struggles with inconsistent internet and phone service.

He claims that because of the awful circumstances—which included him missing a crucial flight to Lagos because of inadequate internet and phone service—Nigerians have suffered greatly.

Businessman Abubakar Isah reported that unstable networks, poor data service, and connection problems had been occurring lately.

He added that the network providers were indifferent to the suffering of their consumers.

Mr. Isah called on the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to fulfill its obligation to safeguard its subscribers, while applauding the organization for its years of hard work.

According to internet cafe operator Ahmed Nuhu, the nation’s telecommunications infrastructure has not been performing properly lately.

Nonetheless, he urged the regulatory agencies to intervene and save Nigerians from the ‘oppression’ of the telecom carriers.

Because “Nigerians were angry with them,” Maryam Adamu, a schoolteacher, encouraged the telecom operators to improve their services.

Ms. Adamu advised the operators to focus on ways to enhance their services after accusing them of only being concerned with their revenues.

She also bemoaned the fact that the MTN office in the city where she went to get her line was closed.

The MTN head office in Kano has closed in the meantime.

Numerous subscribers stormed the outlet on Monday, forcing authorities to use tear gas to break the tension.

The closure came after MTN sent out a letter to its customers about closing all of its retail locations countrywide.

They claimed that in light of the growing issue regarding the NIN-SIM card connectivity, the action was taken to guarantee the safety of both workers and consumers.
