The Kano State Government has given its approval for the release of N29 billion to start and finish a number of capital projects across the state.

At the state Executive Council meeting in Kano, which Governor Abba Yusuf chaired, the approvals were granted.

Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, the Director-General of Media and Publicity, made this announcement on Wednesday in Kano.

He claims that the Council authorized the allocation of N7.7 billion to carry on the dualization of a 5-kilometer road that passes through each of the state’s 44 Local Government Areas.

The council also approved the use of N239 million to build three rural roads in the Gwale, Ajingi, and Kiru/Madobi LGAs at Ja’en Makera-Salanta Gudduba-Unguwar Baizangon Guliya and Fagoje-Kwanar Zuwo.

Additionally, a N7.1 billion approval was granted for the purchase of 500 relief transformers, which will be dispersed to different villages around the state’s 44 local government districts.

Additionally, N6.4 billion was authorized for the state’s 2024 Constituency Projects.

According to Dawakin-Tofa, “one of the council’s resolutions is approval for the construction of a 2-coat surface dressed road from Kwanar Gammawa in Gezawa LGA at a cost of N343m.”

Additionally, he stated that N819 million had been approved for the purchase of 20 Toyota Hilux and one Toyota bus for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.

The building of rural roads, intervention, and counterpart financing under rural access and agricultural marketing projects were also approved by the council for a total of N5.3 billion.

“The Chairman Anti-Phone Snatching Task Force Committee’s offices at Coronation Hall were renovated and converted, and that was approved in part with N26 million,” he stated.
