JT released his first solo mixtape, City Cinderella, on Friday, July 19. DJ Khaled, Stunna Girl, CLIP, and Jeezy—who had an appearance on the remix of “OKAY” earlier in the year—contributed to the 16-song album.
“Sideways,” one of the other well-known songs, has received over 14 million views on YouTube as of the time of publication. JT considered her background on the first tune, “Intro (Hope),” but notable songs like “Uncle Al” and “Lemon Pepper” adopted a happier tone.
The former City Girls rapper said to PAPER, “That song got me through a lot,” in reference to the fact that her viral hit song “No Bars” is not on the album. I will always find it extremely special. Although I’m disappointed that it’s not even on my first project, I believe it was necessary to bring me to this point.

Since the project was originally hinted at around the end of 2023, JT’s followers have been eagerly awaiting its release. More than 50,000 tweets were made about #CityCinderella, with one admirer commenting, “I like that JT album.” It sounds as though she actually made her voice, unlike anything else that is [out] at the moment. “All shade, but this is the best female rap project out [right now], and I’m standing behind that,” said another commenter. JT made it clear that City Cinderella will not be labeled as an album, but rather as a mixtape. “I didn’t have enough time to truly nourish and doctor this project because I had to produce it while on tour and moving around. She told PAPER, “This is just something I’m putting out with my pure instincts.”
With the start of her “City Cinderella Tour” in August, she will be touring with the mixtape. New York, Atlanta, and Charlotte are a few important destinations. On September 22, she will perform in Los Angeles to round up her tour.
