Jay-Z has added to his impressive investing portfolio with a stake in Wristcheck, a marketplace for luxury watches.

The renowned rapper, who also enjoys collecting watches, contributed to the business’s most recent $5 million fundraising campaign.

The website lets collectors purchase and trade high-end watches that have been certified authentic by watchmakers, ensuring that buyers willing to part with up to seven figures for a timepiece are getting the real thing.

Regarding Hov’s investment, co-founder Austen Chu stated in a statement, “JAY-Z has always been an inspiration to me as an entrepreneur. I grew up listening to his music, which not only exposed me to watch companies like Audemars Piguet but also deepened my passion for timepieces by bridging the gap between pop culture and timepieces.

“As the most significant celebrity watch collector of the twenty-first century and a recognized G.O.A.T., his endorsement has significant personal and professional value,” he continued. It’s evidence of the community and trust we’ve established, and it’s a significant turning point in establishing Wristcheck as the go-to resource for watch enthusiasts everywhere.

Jay-Z is well-known for his prestigious watch collection, which features timepieces from brands like Hublot, Richard Mille, Audemars Piguet, and, of course, Rolex.

The Brooklyn-born billionaire gained notoriety in 2021 when he paid $6 million for an uncommon Tiffany and Patek Philippe partnership.

Days after the watch sold for $6.5 million at auction, Jigga was spotted donning it at the premiere of the Idris Elba film The Harder They Fall.

At one of Diddy’s birthday celebrations, the Roc Nation mogul donned a $2.2 million Patek Philippe, and on another occasion, he flaunted an even more expensive Richard Mille that required 3,000 man-hours to manufacture.

Aside from his substantial real estate assets, JAY-Z is well-known for his early investments in Uber, marijuana software startup Flowhub, and plant-based milk brand Oatly.

In addition, he was once the Brooklyn Nets’ NBA owner.
