While he has been largely silent lately, Kanye West has returned with a new song called “No Apologies,” co-written with Consequence.
Released on Friday, July 12, the song doesn’t really have Ye rapping; instead, Cons and Ye sing together in the chorus after Ye speaks during the intro.
But the latter spits out two verses on the tune.
“I go Rich Paul in the room with Adele/ And this bitch call him in the pool with Michelle/ And her top’s off like she cool with Janelle/ And if it pop off, I’m kicked out the hotel,” he raps.
The single is likely to appear on the Queens, New York rapper’s next album Nice Doing Business With You, which will also contain the Ye-produced “Blood Stain,” a song fans first heard in 2022.
Kanye West, the legendary Chicago rapper, revealed in a text message earlier this week that he is “retiring from professional music” and is “not sure what else to do.” Rich The Kid shared the message.
But soon after, the rapper known as “New Freezer” seemed to admit that it was all a publicity stunt for his upcoming album Life’s a Gamble. He shared the album’s track listing along with an amended release date of this Friday, July 12.
In response to his earlier post, which has since been removed, he posted on X (previously Twitter), “ACTUALLY WE DROPPING FRIDAY [crying face emojis] 7/19.”
Two tracks from the album are featuring West: “Gimme a Second 2” with Ty Dolla $ign and Peso Pluma, and “Carnival,” which is taken from their joint album Vultures 1. The project will also include Ye and Ty serving as executive producers.
Doubting the retirement talk even more, Kanye is working on his own record, Vultures 2, the second of three albums he plans to collaborate on with Ty Dolla $ign.
After missing its intended release dates of March 8 and May 3, the project has been beset by delays and there is no indication of a definitive arrival.
That being said, Ty emphasized in a recent interview with Billboard that the album is still planned.
