In a recent freestyle on On the Radar Radio, Big Sean seemed to criticize Kanye West.

The Detroit rapper began the freestyle by allegedly referencing Ye’s derogatory remarks about him on a 2021 episode of Drink Champs, where he claimed that signing Sean to G.O.O.D. Music was the “worst” thing he had ever done. He was rapping over Aaliyah’s iconic hit, “If Your Girl Only Knew.”

“I had to switch the home team ’cause they committed treason,” he rapped. “N-ggas looking for engagement like they got their knee bent / I got better things to do than to find someone to beef with.”

Sean later spit: “Man, this industry is terrible, I can’t even vouch / I’ve seen grown men get matching tattoos for the clout.”

These lyrics are a more overt jab at Kanye, who in 2022 got matching tattoos from Steve Lacy and Lil Uzi Vert. The words “We Here Forever Technically” were all engraved on the trio’s biceps.

At the conclusion of his performance, Sean hung a Dilla cap on his microphone stand as a tribute to fellow Motor City icon J Dilla and Aaliyah, whom he called a “real Detroit legend.”

Big Sean’s words were thought to be directed at Kendrick Lamar, with whom he has also had a tumultuous relationship, however DJ Hed clarified on X (formerly Twitter) that the rapper from Compton wasn’t the intended recipient.

“I had a conversation with Sean. “I got better things to do than find someone to beef with” was the motto of the bar. Additionally, it wasn’t for Dot, the co-host of Bigger Picture wrote. “Bar was aimed at another Gemini.”

Following the freestyle, Sean himself commented on social media, writing, “N fuck these b*tch ass n-ggaz, every one of them,” in a post that has since been removed.

“Yall goin wit so many narratives, im talking to da haters who just keep finding something to point out they don’t like about me,” he continued in a different tweet. Though I’m simply concentrating on the music, it’s not even worth describing.

By teasing an unreleased collaboration with the Chicago rap icon that would feature on the much-delayed Vultures 2 with Ty Dolla $ign, Big Sean recently gave the impression that he and Kanye West were on better terms.

Along with his fellow Detroit local BabyTron, Sean also pledged to release new songs this week as he prepares to release his new album. Sean previously appeared on Eminem’s song “Tobey.”
