Tyrese made a heartbreaking return to The Breakfast Club, where he spoke up about his grief and the dissolution of his marriage.
During the long conversation on Tuesday, August 20, the singer and actor spoke up about the deaths of his mother, his two sisters, film director John Singleton, and co-star Paul Walker from Fast & Furious.
Tyrese broke down in tears and said, “I’m doing the best I can with every 24 hours I get,” before announcing with pride that “Black men cry.”
He continued, saying, “There is no amount of space I could ever call home, no car, no jewelry, no rims, no press release, no co-star, and no collaboration in the world that could ever replace my momma.”
Tyrese, who has been married twice, went on, “That could ever fill the void of what it’s like to wake up and get married and want to be in something for the rest of your life, and it goes away.”
Tyrese provided insight into his emotional state when his relationships ended, saying, “Women aren’t the only ones that are saddened when divorces happen. You should check on people other than women when a miscarriage occurs.
“Stop focusing only on the woman and ignore the man when your career is up and down and you are unable to put food on the table.”
During the conversation, Tyrese disclosed that the jewelry he was wearing was phony, which was one of the most strange moments.
“I never sold you on phony, even if everything dies for me tomorrow. With tears streaming down his cheeks, he continued, “None of the jewelry that’s on my arm is real.” He then threw off a bracelet off his wrist.
“Don’t love me because there isn’t a fucking diamond,” he continued. This particular bracelet appears to be genuine as hell. This garbage cost $23 on Amazon.com.
“If you out here getting fake vagina over your fake jewelry, reality is reality,” the Transformers actor said in closing.
