While denouncing those funding the planned protests in August as unpatriotic and claiming to be in possession of foreign passports, President Bola Tinubu says he and other members of his generation have much to teach young Nigerians about being responsible and patriotic citizens.

On Thursday, Mr. Tinubu stated that the older generation should prioritize the future of Nigerian children when he welcomed a team of Islamic leaders led by Sheikh Bala Lau in the State House.

The future of our children should be our first priority. We have a lot to educate kids about responsible citizenship and what it means to be a good citizen, Mr. Tinubu said.

Mr. Tinubu criticized the organizers of the impending August statewide rallies over economic hardships, calling them disloyal and saying that they did not love their country. They don’t care about the country. They have no idea what citizenship is. They possess different passports.

However, Mr. Tinubu’s reputation has been damaged by his involvement in drug trafficking, ownership of a diplomatic passport from Guinea, certificate fraud, identity theft, and unscrupulous enrichment. These issues cast doubt on his ability to educate young Nigerians the values of responsible citizenship.

Following his announcement in 2022 that he would like to run for president, Mr. Tinubu’s past involvement in a cocaine trafficking case from the 1990s that resulted in his forfeiting $460,000 to the US authorities came to light again.

The United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois unsealed new records in 2022 that detailed Bola Tinubu’s interaction with American officials over charges of money laundering and drug trafficking.

Following a FOIA request by Aaron Greenspan and Nigerian writer David Hundeyin, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia in Washington, D.C., set a new date in June to forward a motion to release or withhold Mr. Bola Tinubu’s data by its security agencies.

The two asked the FBI to reveal Mr. Tinubu’s case files in 2022 through a FOIA, citing his involvement in a drug trafficking incident that resulted in his 1993 forfeiture of $460,000 to the US government.

Peoples Gazette released a number of incriminating articles in 2022 detailing how Mr. Tinubu, the governor of Lagos from 1999 to 2007, amassed corrupt wealth through dubious tax administration in Lagos through Alpha Beta.

The publication also revealed how billions were embezzled to shell businesses by Mr. Tinubu’s Alpha Beta.
