To supervise the distribution of the rice that President Bola Tinubu’s administration has allotted to the state, the Katsina government has established a committee.

Bala Salisu-Zango, the information commissioner, made this announcement in a statement on Monday.

Abdullahi Garba-Faskari, the secretary to the state government, would serve as the committee’s chairman, according to Governor Faruk Lawal-Jobe.

According to the statement, the commissioner for special tasks and information, as well as the special adviser on public service administration reform, were members of the committee.

The ALGON Chairman, the commander of the Hisbah Board, the executive chairman of the Zakkat and Waqab Board, the managing director of the state irrigation authority, and the representatives of the Katsina parliament are among the others.

The police, SSS, Katsina and Daura Emirate Councils, the Nigeria Youths Congress, the Youth Council of Nigeria, the JIBWIS and Darika Islamic sects, and civil society organizations are among the committee members.

The committee’s mandate included establishing a protocol for distributing the rice among the 34 local government districts and determining and verifying the quantity of bags of rice received by the federal government.

The acting governor reported that the state administration had arranged for the logistics of distributing the twenty trucks of rice that Katsina had received from the federal government to the several LGAs.
