TJ Swan, a member of the Juice Crew, has died at 57 years old.

Swan’s Juice Crew colleague Roxanne Shanté shared the news on Instagram, stating: “We are saddened to announce the passing of our Hip Hop Brother TJ Swan, the original Bally Silk shirt King.”

The reason for the death has not been revealed yet.

Swan, also known as St. Theron Grant, was one of the earliest singers in the world of Hip Hop, providing vocals for tracks like Biz Markie’s “Nobody Beats the Biz” and “Make the Music With Your Mouth Biz,” as well as MC Shan’s “Left Me Lonely.”

The individual from Long Island but originally from the South Bronx was recognized for his unique fashion sense, which included wearing glossy silk shirts and designer Bally shoes.

Many prominent figures in Hip Hop mourned the death of Swan.

Fellow member of the Juice Crew, Big Daddy Kane, posted on Instagram to wish his good Brother to rest well. Dancing at a celebration, Surprising all!

DJ Premier offered his own tribute by stating: “(Rest in Peace)”. TJ Swan’s style was both Hip Hop and Soulful, characterized by an iLL vibe. An iconic member of the Juice Crew.
