Drake always returns with a fresh sounding album, even when hip-hop fans start to count him out. The Canadian celebrity premiered three unexpected songs on Tuesday, August 6, under the obscure Instagram account @plottttwistttttt.

The albums included the Latto songs “Housekeeping Knows,” “Blue Green Red,” and “It’s Up,” featuring 21 Savage and Young Thug. The previously mentioned song was released with a VHS-style video project that included the rapper from Atlanta and her sister, Brooklyn Nikole. The song “Ride Da Stick” by DJ Ttime from 2017 was also sampled.

Drake also unveiled 100gigs.org, a website with the tagline “100 gigs for your headtop.” Notably, it included a wide range of never-before-seen material, such as concept concepts and artwork, as well as excerpts from his Certified Lover Boy sessions.

The drop was well received on social media, especially considering the abundance of nostalgic videos and throwbacks that were featured. Drake could have saved all of this material for a wild HBO documentary, but instead he gives it away for free to his followers. That person on Twitter said, “That [motherf**ker] is too real.” “Drake is leaning into the people who stayed loyal to him throughout the beef,” another person added. View other reactions below.

It’s fascinating that a controversy regarding whether 21 Savage was making fun of Kendrick Lamar was triggered by Drake’s song “It’s Up.” The rapper from Atlanta rapped, “Made a couple songs, think he hot now / Hit his a** up; he think he Pac now,” in the song’s second stanza. DJ Akademiks reports that Justin “Meezy” Williams, his manager, has subsequently addressed the rumors.

The media personality clarified, saying on a Twitch livestream, “He said, ‘That is definitely not [a] shot at Kendrick.'” He actually stated that since Kendrick had multiple hits or a few [of] songs, s**t would make no sense. You guys should stop making fun of him because he has a lot of songs. 21 didn’t make fun of Kendrick.

Apart from the recently released track and video, Drake also alluded at a joint venture with PARTYNEXTDOOR. It will be released in the fall and add to their extensive discography, which already includes songs like “Come and See Me,” “Recognize,” and “LOYAL.”
