After declaring that her eagerly anticipated album will not be released until 2025, the rapper from “Invasion of Privacy” joined in on the jokes.
Following Cardi B’s announcement that her eagerly anticipated sophomore album would now be released in 2025, fans have been letting her hear it. The “Up” rapper jokingly made fun of herself on Tuesday morning, November 19, for teasing the project all year long in order to put it off.
She tweeted, “Morning to the mighty Bardigang,” coupled with a meme of Indian musician Vennu Mallesh saying, “Don’t believe me.” I really am a liar. Social media users’ responses to the post, which already has over 15,000 likes and 1,400 retweets, ranged from asserting that Cardi B “enjoys seeing us suffer” to playfully proposing she should just hang it up entirely at this point.
One comment about the Fenty Beauty founder’s follow-up to 2016’s ANTI, which is still missing, said, “You and Rihanna compete for [the] Best Liar Award every single year.” “As long as you take accountability, that’s all that matters,” wrote another.
On Monday, November 18, Cardi B said that she would postpone the release of her eagerly anticipated sophomore album. She said during an Instagram Live session, “Next year, my album will be out, my secret businesses will be out — I can’t tell y’all what I’m working on — [and] hopefully next year I get [myself] a lil’ boyfriend,” according to REVOLT.
The rapper’s first album, Invasion of Privacy, which came out at the top of the Billboard 200 chart in 2018, will be followed by the upcoming project. Chance the Rapper, SZA, 21 Savage, YG, Kehlani, Migos, Bad Bunny, and J Balvin were among the guests who made appearances. DJ Mustard, Boi-1da, Frank Dukes, and Vinylz, to name a few, were involved in the production. “I Like It,” “Be Careful,” “Bartier Cardi,” and the RIAA-certified diamond “Bodak Yellow” were some of the outstanding tracks.
Cardi B has been quite active in the music industry since its release. She released loose songs like as “Hot S**t,” which featured Ye and Lil Durk, “Bongos,” which featured Megan Thee Stallion, and, most recently, “Enough (Miami)” by March.
