Fivio Foreign has made a request to Kanye West that echoes the sentiments of many of his admirers in the wake of his unexpected “retirement” announcement.

On Friday, July 19, a video of the Brooklyn rapper pleading with Yeezy to reconsider surfaced.

Fivio argues in the video that West ought to think twice. “Yo, Ye,” he says. Never stop working. You are necessary to us. Ye, we need you!

Even though West had released new songs, his announcement earlier this month that he was retiring from music caused uncertainty.

Ye, the legendary Chicago rapper, first texted Rich The Kid to announce that he was “retiring from professional music” and that he was “not sure what else to do.”

But soon after, the “New Freezer” rapper shared the tracklist and revised release date for his new album Life’s a Gamble, which was released on July 19, thus revealing that it was all a publicity stunt.

In response to his earlier post, which has since been removed, he posted on X (previously Twitter), “ACTUALLY WE DROPPING FRIDAY [crying face emojis] 7/19.”

Two tracks from the album are featuring West: “Gimme a Second 2” with Ty Dolla $ign and Peso Pluma, and “Carnival,” which is taken from their joint album Vultures 1. Executive producers Ye and Ty were also brought on board for the project.

A few days prior, Rich had declared that he was not sure when Life’s a Gamble will be released and was postponing its publication.

Apart from his involvement in Rich The Kid’s album, Kanye West released a new song featuring Consequence earlier this month.

Cons, a dependable partner of Kanye’s and among the first musicians signed to G.O.O.D. Music, posted on social media with the message, “‘No Apologies.'” With YE featured. IT’S TIME TO GO. TO GET PAID, WE DID WHAT WE DID. 12.07.24.

The song is anticipated to be included on the Queens, New York rapper’s next album Nice Doing Business With You, which also includes the Ye-produced song “Blood Stain,” which was initially heard by fans in 2022.

Yeezyland was further confused last week when his album Vultures 1 with Ty Dolla $ign was inexplicably taken off from Spotify without any word from the musicians or the streaming behemoth.

Fans of Ye and Ty were shocked and disappointed by the move; one of them posted the comment “WHAAAT” on social media.

“I was literally listening to Burn Out Tonight at the gym, and when I tried to listen again at home, it disappeared. WTF,” another person commented.

Some, meanwhile, weren’t as shocked and said, “This is why I bought the vinyl. I was sure you would begin removing it from the platforms at some point. I’m surprised he hasn’t begun to take down his [discography] off the internet.

Nevertheless, Vultures 1 was back on Spotify a few hours later, suggesting that the removal was only a technical error.
