Social media users express varied views after the “Say It” host asserted that Megan Thee Stallion was attempting to “cancel” him.

Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez remain entangled in legal conflicts. On Christmas Eve (Dec. 24), PEOPLE Magazine acquired court documents that disclosed Lanez accusing Megan of having “inappropriately chosen to use the Los Angeles County civil court to submit a baseless request for a civil harassment restraining order against Daystar Peterson, who has had no direct interaction with Ms. Pete.”

Megan’s legal team replied to the statement, stating, “It is absurd that a felon found guilty of a violent crime for shooting a victim, and then subsequently intimidating her, is challenging a plea for a protective order, and we believe the court will intervene to safeguard the victim.”

A fan remarked, “The amusing thing is how everyone seems to have totally overlooked that she attempted to shield him. They pressured her by persistently discussing it until she had to share her perspective, and then the state, NOT HER, initiated charges. “If everyone remained silent, he likely wouldn’t be in prison.”

Another user stated, “He’s essentially arguing that her complaint is invalid because she’s attempting to prevent him from speaking and she dislikes it when others doubt her.” Artists such as Fivio Foreign, Tate Kobang, Drake, and others have expressed their support for Lanez previously.

Megan Thee Stallion has spoken candidly about her mental health difficulties after this incident. The public attention combined with responses from other musicians in the industry has complicated the “Savage” rapper’s ability to move beyond the well-documented trial.

In spite of facing criticism, Megan nonetheless achieved a successful run in 2024. The emcee from Texas embarked on a multi-city headlining tour with GloRilla, released her new album MEGAN, and also introduced a deluxe edition called MEGAN: ACT II.

The Southern-born hitmaker worked with GloRilla, Latto, Cardi B, Flo Milli, RM of BTS, Kyle Richh from Brooklyn drill group 41, and others in her inaugural year as an independent artist. She kicked off the year with excitement, battling her previous partner and Hip Hop icon, Nicki Minaj. The two femcees were praised by numerous fans for maintaining the competitive spirit in the genre after its 50th anniversary.
