The Bauchi police command has promised to provide sufficient security for the August 1 start of the statewide demonstration.

This was said in a statement released on Tuesday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Ahmed Wakil.

As per the statement, the command is collaborating with other security agencies to safeguard individuals and their belongings throughout the demonstration.

“To protect people and property, the command has implemented stringent security measures ahead of this event in coordination with other sister security organizations.

“To safeguard areas that might be susceptible to possible disturbances, tactical teams, plainclothes and uniformed personnel, and intelligence assets will be deployed,” the police stated.

The statement asked the protest organizers to give the command their specifics, stressing that these should include the routes, gathering places, and anticipated length of the demonstration in addition to precautions against any criminal elements taking advantage of the nonviolent demonstration.

The order issued a warning against actions that could jeopardize the state’s tenuous calm while underlining its commitment to safeguarding people and property.

In order to help the security services battle crime, he also urged state citizens to give them reliable information.

According to the police statement, “all the information given will be treated with absolute confidentiality.”
