Seldom does ScHoolboy Q hold his tongue. The creator of “THat Part,” Dom Brown, made fun of a young musician who claimed that younger people don’t listen to the California rapper’s songs on Wednesday, July 24.
“At fourteen, you listened to older rappers… Brown stated on Twitter, “You [are] mad that those 14-year-old kids [are] not inspired by you. Watch my next tweet,” ScHoolboy Q swiftly replied. This guy.
The Top Dawg Entertainment signee posted a video of Brown singing “Come Find Me” on Daytime Buffalo in the next upload. “Nobody [will] relate to this, my boy,” he wrote as the caption. Dawg, this [is] very embarrassing.
ScHoolboy Q also posted the following now-deleted message: “Bro, I just played this for [the] homies.” We’re crying like crazy. Man, leave me alone; I was taking care of [my own business]. This is f**kin’ horrible and embarrassing all over again. Avoid doing this [anymore]. It’s unsettling how ignorant [you] are.
Many social media users entered the debate in an attempt to determine the source of the back and forth. Brown claims that he made these comments in reaction to ScHoolboy Q’s purported claim that he doesn’t write music for children.
Currently, ScHoolboy Q is on his “Blue Lips Weekends Tour,” which was supposed to start in Toronto on July 18. But the continuing rap battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar appears to be the reason it was called off. Still, he began the tour on Tuesday, July 23, with a rescheduled stop in Chicago. The route also passes via Atlanta, Brooklyn, Dallas, Houston, and San Francisco, among other cities. The journey will end on August 11 at Showbox SoDo in Seattle.
With features from Rico Nasty, Childish Major Ab-Soul, Freddie Gibbs, and Devin Malik, BLUE LIPS debuted on streaming services in March. Q once declared it to be his best album, even choosing it over hits like Habits & Contradictions and Oxymoron. “You guys have never heard me rap like this, [bro].” he remarked.
