During the Sallah holidays, Muslims and other Nigerians are encouraged by the Department of State Services (DSS) to use caution when participating in religious and social activities.
Additionally, the DSS advised them to follow all applicable personal security protocols.
The advice was included in a statement that was provided to media on Saturday and signed by Peter Afunanya, Director of the Department of Public Relations and Strategic Communications.
The Service also recommended that owners and users of shopping centers, parks, and train stations, among other places, make sure that all physical and other security measures necessary for public safety are strictly adhered to.
It is highly recommended that celebrants exercise caution and follow all applicable personal security protocols when participating in religious and social events during this season.
Similar to this, owners and users of shopping centers, entertainment venues, markets, parks, and train stations, among other locations, must exercise caution and guarantee that all physical and other security measures necessary for public safety are strictly adhered to. They should notify the proper law enforcement authorities of any suspected movements or violations as soon as possible.

It further stated that the Service’s administration and employees wish Muslims all throughout the nation a happy Eid.

As previously reported by Channels Television, the Federal Government has proclaimed Monday and Tuesday as public holidays in observance of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
This was revealed in a statement released on Friday by Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior.
He stated that on behalf of the Federal Government, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the announcement and congratulated the whole Muslim Ummah on this moment, both at home and abroad.
