After Hurricane Beryl left damage in its wake, Megan Thee Stallion is doing her part to ensure that Houston, her city, is ready for any future natural disasters.
In an article that appeared in the Houston Chronicle on Friday, July 17, it was stated that Meg is working with Bread of Life, Inc. to introduce the Emergency Power Program through her Pete and Thomas Foundation. This program will give senior citizens in Houston access to generators so they can have electricity in the event of future natural disasters.
“It’s been painful to watch the elderly population in Houston suffer without electricity during these devastating storms,” Meg said in a statement. To address this issue strategically and obtain generators to help safeguard our senior folks, we wanted to work with Bread of Life. To ensure that our elderly have the finest resources to weather future disasters, we must all do our share.
The Pete and Thomas Foundation was founded in 2022 with the goal of helping women, children, older citizens, and other underprivileged populations with an emphasis on housing, education, health, and wellbeing. The foundation bears the names of the founder’s late parents, Holly Thomas and Joseph Pete Jr.
In other news, Shannon Sharpe recently apologized to Megan Thee Stallion for a lewd comment he made about her the previous year.
The three-time Super Bowl winner and media personality took a minute to honestly express his regret when the Houston rapper made an appearance on an episode of Club Shay Shay that was released on July 1.
He started, “Meg, I want to personally apologize to you before we go any further.” “I never knew whether it would be possible, but I’ve always wanted to sit down and talk to you. However, I always hoped that I would get the chance to run into you.
“Because I joked and made a remark, I believe it was in September or October. I said it in jest, but I think the joke would have been funnier if I hadn’t mentioned you.
“So, as I sit here before you as a man, I want to say that I apologize for any unwanted attention, harm, shame, or embarrassment that I caused you or your family,” he continued.
In response, Megan said, “I appreciate that.”
After being questioned about his affection on Megan Thee Stallion by co-host Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, Sharpe made the initial remarks during an appearance on Nightcap in November of last year.
He remarked, “I’d have her stretched out like quarter-to-three.” “Ocho, there are three ways I do it: deep, hard, and consistently. Ocho, that’s all I have. You ought to give up playing.
She would open up to me like a saloon door. You are aware that my gait [is] a little strange at the moment, but I nevertheless occasionally accomplish things.
Online, the former NFL player received harsh criticism, with many denouncing his comments as “wildly inappropriate,” particularly in the wake of the #MeToo movement.
