One of the most eagerly awaited hip-hop projects in years, Playboi Carti’s second album is finally coming soon, he has now guaranteed fans.
While playing a new song to an enthusiastic audience on Friday, July 5, at Splash! Festival, King Vamp took a minute to inform his fans that he was working on a third album.
“I assure you that the album will be released soon,” he said over the microphone. “Therefore, it is only fitting that I visit you tonight and present a world premiere.”

Playboi Carti’s creative approach for his upcoming album is evidence that he thinks and feels far differently than the majority of his peers.
The Atlanta native was questioned about his subject matter and poetry in the context of developing as an artist in an interview with Numéro Berlin that was published in the previous year.
He answered, “I feel like I’m really onto the next thing so fast and my mind is just so broad.” “Being overly analytical about some things inhibits your ability to be creative. Like, it simply changes some stuff. I so make a sincere effort to shut my mind and phone off and simply try to focus. I’m aware of my environment.
“I’ve been recording in Paris; I adore Paris,” he concluded. Incredible. I spent almost three months recording in a cave, and the music that came out of it is just incredibly wild and bizarre. Then, somewhere in the hills, I’m in a glass house with really nice music playing.
“And then, I’m in Atlanta, where the music is incisive and tensions are really high. I’m just trying to talk to myself, so it’s the little things like that that sustain me.
Whole Lotta Red, Carti’s final opus, was widely praised when it was released in 2020. The new album’s title and release date have not yet been revealed.
