Due to a citywide water main break, Megan Thee Stallion was forced to cancel the first of her two scheduled performances in Atlanta. The rapper had a Friday, May 31 performance scheduled at State Farm Arena. However, only hours prior to the event, he announced on Twitter that the show would be rescheduled for Sunday, June 2.
Megan wrote, “Unfortunately, due to the massive water main break that The City of Atlanta is experiencing, we will need to reschedule tonight’s show at State Farm Arena.” “We will follow the Mayor’s protocol, but I’m extremely disappointed because I had a huge surprise for the Hotties tonight,” she continued.
“The Megan Thee Stallion show scheduled for tonight has been postponed to Sunday due to today’s unfortunate water main breaks across the city,” stated State Farm Arena in response to the postponement. Purchased tickets for the performance tonight will automatically be valid for Sunday.
The location made it clear that Megan’s performance on Saturday, June 1st, would go according to schedule. Tuesday, June 4 at the PNC Arena will mark the continuation of her “Hot Girl Summer Tour,” which will also make dates in Tampa, New Orleans, Dallas, Austin, and Houston. Beginning in Glasgow on July 4th, the European leg will go to a number of locations, including Manchester, Paris, Amsterdam, Dublin, and London.
The creator of “Girls in the Hood” is now working on her third studio album, which does not yet have a title. The musician stated, “I’m just tapping into other sounds, but it’s still very much Megan Thee Stallion,” in a recent interview with L’Officiel.
It won’t feel like I went so left, she continued. It will seem genuine to me. You’ll almost think, “This sounds great, but I wouldn’t have thought she would have rapped over that.” Fans have already heard hits like “Cobra,” “HISS,” and the newly released “BOA.”
