One of XXXTENTACION’s colleagues has accused Drake of dissing the deceased rapper in order to boost his tough guy image.
DJ Scheme, who was a member of the collective Members Only alongside X and others, expressed his displeasure with the 6 God on Sunday (June 23), following boxer Ryan Garcia’s outlandish accusation that Drizzy killed the “Look At Me!” hitmaker.
“My only issue is that after my brother died, all Drake did was throw shots to look more gangster,” Scheme posted on X (formerly Twitter). “So To Wrap Things Up It’s Still Fuck Drake.”
He went on to say, “My only loyalty is to my family. And I consider each and every one of you to be a part of it.
Garcia’s original posts read: “Fuck it Drake killed X. Do not take screenshots. Just kidding; I don’t give a fuck.”
However, he then apologized, writing: “I’m sorry Drake, my bad. It’s love.”
Drizzy was previously implicated in X’s murder trial when suspect Dedrick Williams’ lawyer presented the rap artist as a possible alternate theory to the killing, citing the two’s troubles prior to the Florida rapper’s death in 2018.
Months before his death, X said on Instagram Stories: “If anyone tried to kill me, it was @champagnepapi. “I’m snitching, RN.” He also accused Drake of stealing his flow for his More Life mixtape.
Drake was even required to give a deposition in the matter because of his disagreement with X.
However, murder suspect Robert Allen dismissed the allegation that Drizzy was involved, claiming that he had never met the rapper.
Judge Michael A. Usan later granted Drake’s motion to avoid the deposition, citing a lack of evidence linking him to the murder.
The rapper’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, contended that the court lacked sufficient facts to interview his client, which the judge ultimately agreed with.
Drake later appeared to mock XXXTENTACION on the track “Daylight” from his 2023 album For All the Dogs.
“I wasn’t there when they caught the body/ TBS think that I bought the body/ Take more than that to go pop somebody,” the rapper’s verses read.
It has also been speculated that the Toronto native was ridiculing X on his Her Loss collaboration with 21 Savage, “On BS,” which includes the lyrics: “If he held his tongue on that Live, he’d be alive again, damn.”
