Drake refuted claims of having sent a message to celebrity stylist Chris Blake Griffith about his legal dispute with Universal Music Group.

In a supposed Instagram DM shared by Griffith on Tuesday (January 7), Drizzy reportedly explains his motives for the shocking legal move involving his longtime record label.

He supposedly stated: “Me and Universal are like if Nike were backing a campaign about LeBron cheating on his spouse… not adidas or Reebok… Nike the brand he’s been with since the beginning… my situation is not any street stuff.”

The 6 God continued: “Everyone who came before me that attempted the label was too odd, so they dismissed them as insane and they never faced consequences for their sins and errors.

“I will alter that and transform the building into a safer environment for every artist in the future.”

The supposed dialogue between the two also referenced Griffith’s assertion that NFL player Stefon Diggs attempted to drug and assault him, with Drake responding: “You want me to share a video of you snitching on folks g.”

Following the fashion designer’s viral post, Drake, via Akademiks, refuted sending the messages.

Ak posted on X (previously Twitter): “This is a fraudulent DM. Drake referred to his friend as a Rat… he got upset and fabricated a fake DM to try to gain traction with the blogs and go viral. That’s it,” concluding: “Source – THE BOY.”

In November, Drake submitted two pre-action petitions against UMG, alleging that they employed streaming bots and payola to inflate the popularity of Kendrick Lamar’s popular diss track “Not Like Us.”

He likewise charged the music behemoth — the parent organization of his label Republic Records and Kendrick’s enduring base of Interscope — with defamation for putting out a song that categorizes him as a pedophile.

A court session to decide if Drizzy can depose individuals from UMG and iHeartMedia about his allegations of unlawful radio payments was recently postponed until later this month due to a misunderstanding.

Originally scheduled for December 20, it is now set to take place on January 13 in Bexar County, Texas.

A subsequent hearing concerning Drake’s additional legal action against UMG and Spotify is scheduled to occur shortly after on January 16 in New York.
