According to Wack 100, Drake took a “huge L” when YG showed up to Kendrick Lamar’s Pop Out performance last week.
The contentious music manager gave an explanation of why he believed Drake was severely impacted by the “FDT” rapper who was featured alongside Kendrick on the No Jumper show.
“The West Coast is behind Kendrick,” stated Wack. Drake gets a big F. YG was the worst aspect of that. Drake mentions him by name. Drake is never allowed to perform “Family Matters” and mention YG.
But he did it to himself because K.Dot would have been forced to look at YG if YG didn’t approve of it. Why the hell would YG want to be in poor standings with that when Kendrick Lamar is the greatest thing on the West Coast?
In addition to YG, other West Coast Hip Hop luminaries who attended Kendrick’s Pop Out event included Dr. Dre, Tyler, the Creator, Roddy Ricch, and Black Hippy colleagues ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, and Ab-Soul.
To demonstrate a unified city, K.Dot also welcomed individuals from all sides of L.A.’s gang split.
As the performance drew to an end, Lamar also addressed the crowd, stating, “This shit is making me emotional.” With Nipsey [Hussle’s] passing, we’ve been screwed up. Since Kobe [Bryant] passed away, we have been broken. This is the epitome of oneness.
“This street stuff and this music shit have cost us a lot of friends. That shit is special, for all of us to be united on stage. Each person on this platform has lost a soldier.
A noteworthy aspect of Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” performance was his resurgent criticism of Drake.
In addition to playing the diss tunes “Like That” and “Euphoria,” he concluded the show by playing “Not Like Us” five times.
Kendrick reportedly demanded that Drake return a ring that belonged to 2Pac and was purchased at auction for more than $1 million during the performance.
The line “Give me Tupac’s ring back and I might give you a little respect” was added to the lyrics of “Euphoria” by him.
Drake had previously received legal threats from the late rapper’s estate for utilizing an artificial intelligence (AI) vocal replica of him on the diss track “Taylor Made Freestyle.”
