At her performance at Toronto’s HISTORY, the Canadian celebrity offered credit where credit was due, saying, “She’s killing s**t right now.”
Drake made an appearance during Latto’s performance in Toronto on Thursday, November 7. The Canadian celebrity welcomed the “Brokey” rapper, who was part of her “Sugar Honey Iced Tea Tour,” as she began her headline performance at HISTORY.
“Please make some noise for this girl before you begin, even though I know you’re going to take them on a journey. Drake stated, “She’s killing s**t right now,” in a video that was circulated online. In response, Latto said, “Toronto, this is my first headlining show in the motherfkin’ 6ix,” before launching into her most recent single, “There She Go.”
Drake made a comeback later in the performance to perform a live version of his and Latto’s first-ever joint single, “Housekeeping Knows.” The Atlanta rapper and her sister, Brooklyn Nikole, appeared in the VHS-style video that accompanied the record’s August release. Notably, it sampled the song “Ride Da Stick” by DJ Ttime from 2017.
On Monday, November 11, Latto’s “Sugar Honey Iced Tea Tour” will resume at Detroit’s Fox Theatre. From there, it will go to Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, Vancouver, San Francisco, and Las Vegas, among other locations. The tour will end on December 7 in Denver.
Mariah the Scientist, who also returned to the road on Thursday night, and KARRAHBOOO will be her supporting acts. After Young Thug was released from prison, she briefly left the show run.
In a July interview with Billboard, Latto defended Drake when questioned about his spat with Kendrick Lamar. She told the magazine, “Probably ‘Family Matters,'” when asked which song she liked best from the feud. They say Drake dropped another one as we were leaving a Mariah the Scientist show. I sat in front of the house and said, “Hold on, just play it again!” after playing that s**t the entire way home. That was the one.
