For many years, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg have been friends and colleagues. Their partnership has not only produced some huge singles but also some humorous incidents.

The Los Angeles natives visited Capital Xtra on Friday, July 19, to reflect on their path to this point while they were in London this week for the debut of their Gin & Juice cocktail line.

At one point, Dre told the tale of a disastrous blind date they had together, but at least it had a positive outcome.

“This girl opened the door when we arrived, and she was stunning. It wasn’t mine, despite what I believed. Pushing me aside with a “Nah cuz, that’s me” expression, Snoop I was pretty upset when I turned that corner and saw mine,” Dre remarked.

And we had to drive through Hurricane Katrina for almost an hour to get there, which really disappointed me. The good thing about that was that we made “Nuthin’ But A ‘G’ Thang” at the studio the next day when we got out of that predicament.

For the first time in more than 30 years, Dr. Dre will produce a whole Snoop Dogg album, which is why the two have been working on the much awaited Missionary album.

Daz Dillinger and Kurupt recently made an appearance on Drink Champs to discuss their recently released project, W.A.W.G. (We All We Got). They disclosed that the project will be released sooner than fans may have anticipated.

Snoop Dogg made a sacrifice because his record was coming out in July. This Dr. Dre record will be out in July, he stated.

“He has an album coming out with Dr. Dre next month,” Daz continued.

They went on to say that Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment, Interscope, and the now-owned Death Row Records will all release the album together.

Earlier this year, Snoop Dogg provided an update on Missionary’s status.

“I’m now working with Dr. Dre in the lab. That is Aftermath/Death Row. We are currently tidying up the parts to it, finishing it up. He’s a perfectionist,” he stated on the All the Smoke podcast, which is hosted by former NBA players Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson.

Snoop continued by praising Dre for using his voice “like an instrument” and describing the material they had recorded for the album as “masterful.”

Additionally, he has said that Missionary will be the spiritual continuation of his Doggystyle debut from 1993.
