The Weeknd is bringing his scary home back to Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights to promote the last record in his current trilogy.

The Canadian musician and producer Mike Dean has “curated” the soundtrack for the “Nightmare Trilogy,” which will be held at Universal Studios Hollywood on a few evenings between September 5 and November 3.

Previously, in 2022, Abel brought his After Hours record to life by hosting a “After Hours Nightmare” haunted house at Universal in both Orlando and Hollywood.

Since early 2022, when he tweeted about his then-new album Dawn FM, The Weeknd has made it obvious that he is in the middle of a trilogy. He said, “I wonder… did you know you’re experiencing a new trilogy.”

When he shared the cover art for his two most recent albums, 2020’s After Hours and 2022’s Dawn FM, on X at the beginning of this year, he further clarified the situation by adding a question mark to hint at the release of the trilogy’s third and final volume. In the message, he included a “3” emoji as well.

Additionally, The Weeknd retweeted a fan account’s post that said, “pain, regret, rebirth” and featured three different silhouettes of the singer—the most recent of which featured him as a little boy against a purple background.

The record that will presumably bring this trilogy to an end has not yet been given a title or release date. Nevertheless, he did state that he was “getting ready to close the Weeknd chapter” and that “the album I’m working on now is probably my last hurrah as The Weeknd” in an interview with W from May 2023.

He released a teaser in August called “Unprepared certainty…,” which shows animation of the singer in a house and a church, seemingly as a young person.

The imagery in the video and its connections to The Weeknd’s earlier work are the subject of numerous speculations in the YouTube comments section.
