Janet Jackson’s recent tour includes one of Common’s hit songs, which has Common ecstatic.
DJ Aktive has helped Janet perform several of her great songs live, even mixing some of them with other well-known hits. Following last week’s viral success of the same name by Tinashe, she mashed her 1986 hit song “Nasty” with Common’s 2005 single “Go!” during her tour stop in his hometown of Chicago this week.
“A shout-out to my sibling, @common. Had to flip “Go” into @janetjackson Nasty last night in Chicago! After uploading the video to his Instagram page, Aktive remarked, “#TogetherAgaintour2024 #JanetJackson #Common.”
Common said, “Wow!” in a repost to his Instagram Story. Having my music included on the fantastic @JanetJackson show is an honor! My brother @djaktive deserves a special thank you for making it happen!
In related news, Jackson recently disclosed that she was previously approached to play Storm in an X-Men film from the 2000s; however, Halle Berry ultimately won the part.
A picture of her from the 2000 MTV Movie Awards was shown on an April edition of The Drew Barrymore Show. One of the show’s hosts said they heard she was “almost in The Matrix” after seeing her there wearing an all-black ensemble reminiscent of the Matrix.
The pop icon answered, “No.” “This is quite awful. Although I can’t recall the movie, Halle Berry portrayed Storm. However, I was just starting the Janet Tour, therefore I was unable to accept the role.
In 2022, Jackson provided more details on the incident on The Steve Harvey Morning Show.
In response to a fan’s query at the time, she stated, “I’ve always wanted to play a superhero in a film.” Ever since the 1990s, I’ve wanted to accomplish that.
In actuality, before I went to Halle Berry, [X-Men director] Bryan Singer approached me about playing Storm for X-Men. Obviously, I didn’t accept his offer. I was on the Janet Tour at the time, so I was unable to complete it. Storm has always been among my favorite Marvel characters.”
