Up to this point, the CDCR has dispatched an impressive 783 incarcerated individuals to assist with the wildfires.
The wildfires in Los Angeles County have resulted in 10 fatalities and compelled 180,000 residents to evacuate. Even with the destruction, the circumstances could be much worse without the work of firefighters and inmate teams, who, as Chris Brown states, merit a reduction in their sentences.
“LA, be sure to organize a ceremony or parade for these firefighters and first responders following this,” the artist wrote on his Instagram Stories on Thursday (Jan. 9). He mentioned, “Additionally, the inmates who were out there putting their lives on the line deserve time deducted from their sentences.” “Just putting it out there.”
So far, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) has assigned 783 prison inmates to help manage the wildfires. The imprisoned participants take part voluntarily in the Conservation (Fire) Camps Program, which encompasses 35 camps throughout 25 counties in California. As reported by CBS News, they help by “creating fire lines and eliminating fuel from areas behind buildings to aid in slowing the fire’s spread.” Additional responsibilities involve preparing food, managing the water treatment plants, and handling laundry tasks.
In a previous Instagram post, Brown asserted that someone was “igniting these fires,” a theory that could hold some validity. Las autoridades de Los Ángeles arrestaron a un hombre en Woodland Hills tras recibir informes de que alguien intentaba iniciar un incendio. The individual, whose name has not been disclosed, reportedly had a “propane tank or a flamethrower.”
A resident of Los Angeles, the “No Guidance” artist didn’t disclose whether the fires impacted him, though many others have been affected. Earlier that day, Jhené Aiko disclosed that her home with her children “burned to the ground” along with all their belongings.
“My home with my children has disappeared,” she remarked. “God have compassion.” Grateful that we still have one another. Beginning from the beginning. “My heart feels so burdensome.” Aiko guaranteed that she and her children are secure. Kid Cudi had to evacuate as well, while “MUSHROOM CHOCOLATE” creator QUIN posted videos of her scorched home.
