Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, and the immediate-past governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, were among the guests who attended the much-anticipated wedding ceremony of Afrobeat sensation David Adeleke, also known as Davido, and his fiancée, Chioma Rowland, in Lagos on Tuesday.

The ceremony will also be attended by a number of other dignitaries, including Nigerian celebrities. They included businessman and celebrity bartender Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, and Pretty Mike, among others.

The wedding has been the buzz of the town for days and is trending on social media with the hashtag #Chivido2024, which is an acronym made up of the couple’s names, Chioma and Davido, and the year of the wedding.

During the traditional wedding ceremony, Davido assured Chioma’s parents that their daughter would be safe, respected, and linked.

In a remarkable moment captured in a viral video on Tuesday ahead of the wedding ceremony, an ecstatic Davido referred to his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, as Nigeria’s future President.

Dele Momodu, a veteran journalist and former PDP presidential aspirant, congratulated Davido and Chioma. Momodu, an uncle of Davido’s first Baby Mama, Sophia Momodu, expressed his congratulations on behalf of the Momodu family. He prayed that God would bless their union, granting them “good health, prosperity, and unlimited happiness.”

The wedding ceremony is luxurious and opulent. In a social media video, Davido showed off a $800,000 wristwatch (roughly N1.2 billion) that he paired with his first attire. “There’s no phony watch, mehn. “$800,000, man,” Davido replied, excitedly showing off the timepiece.

Prior to the performance, Davido had claimed a few days before that Chioma’s engagement ring was worth three Rolls Royces.

Two days earlier, on Sunday, the pair shared breathtaking pre-wedding images on social media, which sparked conversation among millions of followers and admirers.
