Chance The Rapper and his former wife Kirsten Corley have officially come to an agreement regarding their divorce.
Based on paperwork acquired by TMZ on Thursday (January 9), the couple submitted in Cook County, Illinois last week to inform the court they have reached a consensus regarding their divorce settlement, with Corley affirming she accepts it “as a fair and just resolution.”
The specifics of the agreement have not been disclosed yet, and a judge still needs to formally approve it.
Corley submitted divorce papers in December following five years of marriage and 14 years together in total.
After their separation in the spring, the couple released a joint statement on Chance’s Instagram Stories to update the public on their breakup.
“Following a time apart, we have come to the conclusion to go our separate ways,” the statement says. “We reached this decision in a friendly manner and with appreciation for the moments we shared.”
“God has gifted us with two lovely daughters whom we will keep raising together.” We respectfully request privacy and understanding as we go through this transition. “Thanks, Chance and Kirsten.”
The couple tied the knot in 2019 and share two young daughters named Kensli and Marli. Their wedding ceremony occurred at the Pelican Hill resort in Newport Beach, California, with 150 of their dearest friends and family present.
Their union, nonetheless, was not free from problems.
In 2022, the Acid Rap artist started trending on Twitter when fans found out he had been engaging with explicit materials showcasing trans men and women.
In reply, Corley went on Instagram to confront the “trolls” who were attacking her husband and stated: “Y’all really be reaching. He’s not going to communicate about this, but all I can say is we attended an event all night long — not last night, but the night before, until late. We were in celebration mode, so occasionally mistakes occur unintentionally.
Before concluding the video, she stated: “So, all you little trolls visiting my page who are getting blocked, you can go to hell.”
