Cardi B has some things to say to Candace Owens after the conservative political analyst implied that the rapper’s support of Kamala Harris was driven by money.
Owens openly questioned Cardi about whether she was compensated to speak at a Harris campaign rally earlier this month in a post on X on Thursday, November 14.
“Hi @iamcardib — I’m working on an article and wanted to know if you received any compensation for speaking at the Kamala campaign event. Many thanks in advance! She penned.
“I didn’t get paid a dollar and that’s on my three!” Cardi swiftly retorted. For glam and travel, I really paid out of pocket because I wanted to go there. I’ll quarrel with you about politics for free, girl, because you know me too well!
In a prior attempt to attack Cardi B for her endorsement, Elon Musk referred to her as a “puppet” after her speech began shakily due to a malfunctioning teleprompter. She had to wait awkwardly for someone to pass her a phone with her speech on it, but everything else went smoothly.
Musk responded on X by writing, “Another puppet who can’t even talk without being fed the words.” “There is no genuine empathy or authenticity in the Kamala campaign.”
Cardi swiftly responded to the Tesla CEO, writing: “Elon, I’m not a puppet. My parents were immigrants who had to work quite hard to support me. My background includes welfare, section 8, poverty, and the consequences of having the system work against you.
However, you have no knowledge of that. You have absolutely no knowledge of the American fight. PS: Please correct my algorithm.
Cardi denounced unverified reports that she was compensated to back Harris at the political rally in a different post.
“I didn’t receive any compensation for this.I’ve been discussing these subjects for free on all of my platforms for the past few years,” she said.
“You won’t tell me what I want to see in MY community because I was a 24 year poverty survivor before I became famous.”
