During her headlining performance at the BET Experience concert on Saturday, June 29, Cardi B encountered a number of technical difficulties. At one point during her forty-minute performance, which featured singles including “I Like It,” “Up,” and “WAP,” the Grammy-winning artist had to stop performing.

She addressed the issues head-on and was rather direct in her dissatisfaction. “You’re messing with my pyros in production, which is off, and you’re messing with my music,” The rapper cried, “Fk, am I paying y’all psy a** nas for?,” in the middle of his performance. “Bch, turn on my f**king fan.” The “Bodak Yellow” singer angrily went on, “Let’s go.”

Cardi B’s public comments caused quite a stir online, especially for someone of her caliber. No one should ever be treated disrespectfully in the job, a Twitter user stated. “I know people have families to feed, but I [wish] we lived in a better world.” This idea applies to less glamorous jobs as well. Among them were celebrities.

The native of New York, of course, clapped back. Girl, please stop talking. After doing a show, you are not paid. You make the payment beforehand. The least they could have done would have been to prepare my pyro and turn on the fans after I paid $350,000 up front. Because, guess what? Ultimately, that money isn’t refundable,” the rapper retorted.

Cardi also clarified her position on the quality of the performance in a heated exchange with YouTuber Milagro Gramz. “I don’t half-a** when it comes to paying, so don’t half-a** my show because [you’re] comfortable with that,” she said. She said, “Don’t tell me how to talk to people when you the same h** talkin’ bout my kids and other parents who died away for no reason.”

There were several other musicians on the BET Experience bill. Using a medley of songs from his fifth studio album, One of Wun, including “whatsapp” and “prada dem,” Gunna delighted the audience. Ahead of her “Sexyy Red 4 President Tour,” Sexyy Red entertained the audience with performances of her hits “Rich Baby Daddy,” “SkeeYee,” “Get It Sexyy,” and “Pound Town.” At the event, Davido and vocalist Jordan Ward also gave performances.
