Since the release of “Get In With Me” and “Mr Pot Scraper,” in January and February, respectively, BossMan Dlow’s career has taken off.
The Freshman Class selection spoke with XXL on Monday, July 8, and shared his favorite musicians, Future, Rod Wave, and Wiz Khalifa. According to Dlow, “I like people that talk about money, motivation, staying in your own lane, and getting some money.” That kind of stuff is what I prefer to hear. Drink some alcohol, smoke some weed, and f**k terrible b**ches.
“The music of Future just speaks for itself.” Ever since “Turn On The Lights,” Bruh has been rapping. Still going, still putting out hits,” the rapper from Florida explained. “[Rod Wave] was more about witnessing a young Black man succeed despite all odds. Right now, he’s selling out stupid arenas. That is undoubtedly just going from nothing to the biggest. That really is some incredible stuff. You feel me? You watch him do it, and it inspires you to follow suit.
Along with artists like Lay Bankz, Maiya The Don, BigXthaPlug, That Mexican OT, Rich Amiri, ScarLip, Hunxho, Cash Cobain, Skilla Baby, and 4batz, Dlow was designated a XXL Freshman.
The interview featured a freestyle by the up-and-coming talent. “You know we got big pockets, baby, the trap n**gas winning,” he rapped a cappella while holding a stack of cash. “Made millions off a chicken talking, baby, I got big diamonds, I done skipped college / 10-pointers moon walking.
“Dlow revealed Mr Beat The Road, his most recent endeavor, in March. Wizz Havinn, Rob49, and Sexyy Red contributed to the 17-song collection. The songs “Come Here,” “Talk My S**t,” and “Obama Runtz” were among the safe selections.
Following its release, the rapper’s “Finesse (Remix)” featuring GloRilla became another hit.
