Blueface’s probation in a Las Vegas shooting case has been effectively reset; yet, the rapper remains incarcerated in connection with a separate probation violation case.
According to Vegas NBC affiliate 8 News Now, Clark County District Court Judge Kathleen Delaney, who issued a bench warrant for his arrest in February for breaking his probation in this case, has now deferred the rapper’s two-to-five-year term.
Instead, he has been awarded up to three years of probation, avoiding further jail time as long as he follows the terms of his probation.
“This was a first technical violation, with only temporary revocation available for a maximum of 30 days,” stated an amended judgment of conviction delivered last week.
Because he is now in jail in California, Judge Delaney has decided to include the time he has already served toward the 30-day sentence. Blueface is scheduled to appear in court on July 29 for a ruling on a different probation violation issue.
Judge Delaney’s most recent ruling is a far cry from the tough tone she used with Blue (actual name Johnathan Porter) when she gave down a suspended two-to-five year sentence for the rapper’s role in an October 2023 shooting on the Las Vegas Strip.
According to 8 News Now, Blueface’s probation required him to abstain from alcohol and drugs, including marijuana, and to stay away from the Vegas Strip and the city’s downtown corridors unless he could prove he was there for employment or other valid reasons.
In addition, he was required to attend impulse control counseling, have no contact with the shooting victim, maintain full-time employment, follow a curfew, report to parole and probation, and give the Division of Parole and Probation access to all communication devices and social media apps.
“If you get caught doing that, you get brought back here on any kind of probation violation especially anything involving weapon, I will not hesitate to put you in prison for significant period of time,” Judge Delaney stated at the start of the sentence. “Clearly, you are messing with your liberty and life. But you’re jeopardizing your liberty if you’re going to have guns and do anything that will violate your probation in that way.”
The infraction is believed to be related to a video that emerged online during a concert in Salt Lake City last year.
During the event, the “Thotiana” rapper hauled a woman up on stage, shoved her, and told his entourage to “get her.”
In Las Vegas, a gunfight erupted outside Euphoria Gentlemen’s Club, injuring one man and forcing the nightclub to close.
Blueface was subsequently compelled to pay the club’s owner $13 million in damages, missed earnings, and leasing charges.
While he initially escaped jail, he was sentenced to three years of probation that prohibited him from possessing drugs, alcohol, or weapons. He is also prohibited from visiting Las Vegas unless for business purposes.
The 27-year-old is already in jail in Los Angeles for a different probation violation in connection with an assault accusation against a bouncer in 2021. He is expected to remain in prison until July.
It was unclear how Blueface broke the terms of his probation, but the rapper’s mother suggested it was related to his “baby mama drama.”
