The accusation that Kanye West leaked Big Sean’s upcoming album Better Me Than You has finally been addressed.

Speaking about the issue on Instagram Live, Sean, who had a tumultuous history with his former label boss and mentor in recent years, stood up for Ye.

The native of Detroit remarked, “I know he wouldn’t do it because that’s garbage. I’m positive he wouldn’t act in such a way. I did get screwed up by that, so whoever did it, know that. I’m certain he wouldn’t do it. N-ggas mentioning that “Ye did that.” I’m certain he wouldn’t do it.

Sean went on, giving his admirers a brief tour of his mansion, saying, “You see this plaque right here? According to G.O.O.D. Music, 185 million records have been sold. I love G.O.O.D. Music. I mean, they performed better financially than I did with my songs!

“And divulging an n-gga’s dirt? Not only did I have access to his exclusives, but also to many others’. I know he wouldn’t do it since I would never expose someone else’s dirt. Whoever spread the notion, you guys are full of garbage.

According to the individual who leaked Big Sean’s record, Kanye West gave them the order to do so.

They claimed that Sean had insulted Kanye in his most recent On the Radar freestyle, and they added, “Ye told me to leak it.”

He rapped, making reference to West’s derogatory remarks about him on Drink Champs in 2021, “I had to switch the home team ’cause they committed treason […] N-ggas looking for engagement like they got their knee bent / I got better things to do than to find someone to beef with.”

“Man, this industry is terrible, I can’t even vouch / I’ve seen grown men get matching tattoos for the clout,” spittled Sean in reference to the Chicago rap icon having identical tattoos with Lil Uzi Vert and Steve Lacy.

Kanye has not yet addressed the rumors that he was responsible for either the leak or Sean’s freestyle.

Better Me Than You, the album’s title, and its August 9 release date were formally confirmed by Big Sean, following the discovery of an incomplete version of the record online.

While providing a surreal trailer with a groovy bassline, spacey synths, and pounding percussion as the music, he also shared some of the purpose behind the endeavor.

“The stress of life (becoming a new father, developing as an artist, evolving as a person, etc.) and accepting it all gave me a lot of clarity about what I needed to FOCUS on to find a little piece of HAPPINESS,” he said on X (previously Twitter).

“To put it mildly, the last few years have been a journey creating this album, but I’m just happy we’re here at last.”

“Precision” and “Yes,” two of the album’s tracks that Sean has already released, are Although a track list is still pending, guest appearances from Jhené Aiko, Nas, and Brent Faiyaz are anticipated, among others.
