Even though Missy Elliott turned 53 on July 1st, it looks like she will be enjoying all month long because she recently revealed that a sizable birthday celebration will take place later this month in Los Angeles.

“Party on the Plaza: An Out of This World Experience,” Missy’s “birthday and tour kickoff celebration,” will take place on Saturday, July 6, according to Billboard. It will have “live DJs, Elliott’s tour dancers leading the OUT OF THIS WORLD Dance Challenge, plus a special surprise.”

On July 10, the day before Missy’s current Out of This World Tour kicks off a two-night run at the city’s Crypto.com arena, an event will take place at Los Angeles’ Jerry Moss Plaza.

Watch Missy discuss the occasion in the TikTok video below.

“As a cultural destination in Los Angeles County where dancing and artistry thrive, The Music Center is proud to be a vital part of Missy Elliott’s OUT OF THIS WORLD Dance Challenge— it is an exciting opportunity to highlight L.A.’s vibrant dance community and encourage people to be creative and connect,” said Rachel S. Moore, president and CEO of The Music Center, the performing arts center that houses Jerry Moss Plaza.

“Angelenos, put on your best dance moves and get ready to show them off to the world!”

Timbaland, Ciara, and Busta Rhymes are supporting the Out of This World Tour.

This summer, Missy’s 24-city tour—her first-ever headlining tour—will travel the quartet across North America. It started in Vancouver on July 4.

After that, Missy and company will stop in places like Houston, Atlanta, New York, and Toronto before coming to an end in Rosemont, Illinois, on August 22.

Elliott stated in a news release, “I am experiencing so many milestone ‘firsts.’ This is an incredible time in my life.” “I’m going on my FIRST headline tour and I’m the FIRST female hip-hop artist to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.”

“Forever, my fans have been requesting that I go on tour, but I wanted to hold off until I felt like it was the right time because I knew that if I was going to do it, it had to be big and it had to be with family!”

Prepare to go on an incredible journey with me, Busta Rhymes, Ciara, and Timbaland! We are eager to tell the fans about this experience!
