From Wednesday through Friday, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency has forecast hazy weather conditions nationwide.

NiMet’s weather outlook, announced on Tuesday in Abuja, stated moderate dust haze with horizontal visibility of two to five kilometres would be expected over the forecast period.

In the North-Central, moderate dust haze with similar horizontal visibility is forecast. Coastal towns will have early morning fog or mist, while the South’s inland cities will see patches of cloud in a hazy atmosphere throughout the period.

Cloud patches in hazy conditions are also anticipated in the coastal areas later in the day.

NiMet also anticipated that visibility will improve during the forecast period, with a moderate dust haze in the northern region. Additionally, it stated that on Friday, there will be moderate dust haze in the northern area, with horizontal visibility between two and five kilometers.

However, in areas of Zamfara, Katsina, Kano, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Kaduna, localized visibility of less than one kilometer is anticipated.

Additionally, the agency predicted cloud patches in a hazy atmosphere over the South’s interior cities and a small dust haze with good visibility for the North-Central.

Because dust particles were floating in the air, NiMet advised the public to take the appropriate safety measures.

People with respiratory disorders, such asthma, were cautioned by the government to be aware of the current weather.

In order to guarantee efficient flight planning, it was also advised that airline operators acquire weather reports tailored to individual airports from NiMet.

Additionally, NiMet encouraged locals to stay informed by visiting their website at www.nimet.gov.ng to follow weather updates.
