As the first female musician from Nigeria to feature on the U.S. Billboard 200 Album chart, Ayra Starr has created history.

Her second album, “The Year I Turned 21,” which debuted at No. 195, helped her reach this milestone. Billboard Charts tweeted this information along with a list of other noteworthy chart debuts.

Ayra Starr’s album not only made it to the top of the US charts but also became the first project by a female Nigerian musician to appear on the UK Official Album list. It debuted at No. 80 in the UK charts and No. 72 in the French charts.

Remarkably, Burna Boy’s album “Love, Damini” peaked at No. 14 and continues to be the highest-peaking Nigerian album in the United States to date. Furthermore, “Love, Damini” became the first album from Nigeria to reach the top of the UK album chart.
