Jay-Z was spotted showing off a $340,000 unique Bugatti Tourbillon watch at Fanatics Fest in New York.
The watch was created by renowned celebrity jeweler Jacob Arabo, and the rapper and mogul is the first owner.
Using an Instagram video of the renowned rapper wearing the watch and the comment, “My dear friend @jayz was the first to own the 5 time zone watch,” Arabo braggingly claimed that Jay was the owner of the watch. Twenty-five years on, he’s the first owner of the Bugatti Tourbillion.
In an ode to the Bugatti automobile, Arabo described the design of the watch, saying, “The Bugatti Tourbillon is the culmination of months of painstaking collaboration between our teams, with each side putting its experience to to the table.
The watch is modeled after Bugatti’s most recent ultra-sports vehicle, the Tourbillon, and features many of the same revolutionary technologies and iconic design cues. The big sapphire side windows, side radiator inlets, and front grille are all featured on the 52 x 44 mm case, which is designed to mimic the body of the vehicle.
As a tribute to Bugatti’s revolutionary engine design, the watch’s internal mechanism is a V16 engine block automaton built from a single transparent sapphire block. Replicating the RPM counter, the 30-second flying tourbillon and retrograde hours and minutes are technical marvels that challenge the conventions of horology.
JAY-Z was spotted earlier this year with a Rolex watch that cost more than $4 million.
Hov wore a 6270 Rolex Daytona, inscribed with the Omani flag, to the Hamptons July 4th white party hosted by Fanatics founder Michael Rubin and other A-list celebrities.
There were only ever eight timepieces produced, all for the Sultan of Oman in 1988.
The watch features a sapphire numeral dial decorated with pavé diamonds, an 18-karat yellow gold case, and a baguette diamond bezel.
The latest auction sale of one of the watches brought approximately $4.2 million in 2023.
Jay-Z included his passion for watches into his vast business portfolio when he invested in the luxury watch marketplace Wristcheck earlier this year.
The millionaire, who was born in Brooklyn, is well-known for his extensive watch collection, which features timepieces from Hublot, Richard Mille, and Audemars Piguet in addition to Rolex watches.
