A$AP Rocky has given a brief update on Don’t Be Dumb, his frequently postponed album.

The Harlem rapper visited New York City on Thursday, November 7, for the premiere of his A$AP Puma Takeover. A group of fans asked him as he was leaving when they could anticipate the release of the LP, which was originally scheduled for August 30 but was postponed to an undetermined fall date.

Unfortunately, Rocky only responded, “ASAP, n-gga,” giving no indication of when to expect it.

The announcement—or lack thereof—comes only days after fans discovered that vinyl album pre-orders had been canceled by retailers, suggesting an even lengthier delay.

A$AP When Rocky debuted his AWGE “American Sabotage” apparel collection during Paris Fashion Week, he walked the runway in front of Pusha T, Pharrell, and his girlfriend Rihanna, among others, and revealed the August 30 release date.

His first album in six years, Don’t Be Dumb, is the sequel to his third LP, Testing, which was released in 2018 to a mixed reception.

Rocky partially attributes the lengthy interval to leakage. “They must cease leaking it! Last year, he told Complex, “These idiots need to stop leaking shit.” We have to start again every time, but at the moment, I believe we’ve tightened things up to the point where we’re unable to make or break anything right now.

Then, in late August, he addressed the leaks once more in a Billboard cover story, revealing that it had been rescheduled for the fall.

“I’ve been making music for six years now, but they leak it, and I just get over it and say, ‘Fuck it,'” he remarked. They destroy the music by leaking a much of it. similar to my video of Taylor Swift. I never released it because I was so upset about it.

Additionally, the article provided additional information about Don’t Be Dumb: “He’s only been working on it for a year, but he thinks it’s the best album he’s ever made,” he says, echoing the opinions of most artists talking about their latest work.

It goes on: “Don’t Be Dumb goes deeper and skews slightly heavier topically than Rocky’s typical conceited works.” According to the 35-year-old jack-of-all-that-flies, this is because the world is going nuts right now and he is becoming older and wiser (“I’m an OG now”).

“Shroom Cloud,” a somber, experimental piece that addresses “present issues and world conflicts and, you know, the earth dying and everything,” is one of the first songs he recorded for the album.”

A$AP The album, according to Rocky, is “grim” and a blend of “German expressionism [and] ghetto futurism.” Additionally, he disclosed that he played the project for renowned filmmaker Tim Burton, whom he had tried in vain to enlist to do the cover art.

The father of two stated, “I sat and played the album for Tim Burton, and he was fucking with it heavy.” As he rocked his head, he exclaimed, “Wow! I had no idea you composed such music!

Nevertheless, Rocky was able to get Danny Elfman to contribute music, including on a song that The Alchemist made.

Metro Boomin, Tyler, The Creator, Pharrell, Madlib, and Mike Dean are among the other well-known producers who are anticipated to contribute to the album.
