James Jannard, the inventor of Oakley, smashed JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s record in California real estate when he sold his Malibu mansion for $210 million.

The $200 million Jay and Bey paid for a Malibu mansion last year was surpassed by this sale, making it the most expensive in state history.

The mansion has been held by Jannard for more than ten years; he paid $75 million for it in 2012.

Among the most opulent mansions in the United States, it spans 9.5 acres and features 300 feet of ocean beachfront in addition to eight bedrooms and fourteen bathrooms.

Renowned architect Tadao Ando created a 30,000 square foot Malibu property that cost a whooping $200 million to buy for JAY-Z and Beyoncé last year.

The power couple has recently spent hundreds of millions on real estate, so they are no strangers to significant real estate purchases.

With a $52.8 million mortgage, JAY-Z and Beyoncé bought their $88 million Bel-Air property back in 2017. Assuming an interest rate of four percent, that translates to $252,075 in monthly mortgage payments over a thirty-year period, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Situated on a two-acre estate, the opulent pad features 30,000 square feet of living space, a full-sized basketball court, four outdoor swimming pools, a spa, and staff quarters.

After consistently losing out on bids for the previous three years, the couple finally acquired their dream house. They paid $150,000 a month to rent an L.A. house while they were hunting.

Their million-dollar domain now ranks higher in Los Angeles County than David Geffen’s $85 million acquisition of Malibu earlier this year. It is the sixth-biggest transaction.

In addition to real estate, the pair has been accumulating expensive cars.

They reportedly acquired the most expensive vehicle in the world in 2021, a $28 million Rolls-Royce Boat Tail convertible.

The $28 million blue Rolls-Royce is said to have been designed for the French Riviera’s Mediterranean backroads, where The Carter family frequently visits for vacations.

Additionally, it has a rear deck with a picnic table and a double refrigerator to maintain champagne bottles at six degrees.

Everybody can also have a two-sided Bovet 1822 watch that they can wear or use as a car clock.
