It has been claimed that Azealia Banks has been asked to vacate the house she was renting in a small village south of Miami, Florida, due to nonpayment of rent.
On Friday, July 5, a portion of a court file appeared online, providing insight into the most recent development in the continuing legal dispute between Banks and Isis Claro, the owner of the house in Palmetto Bay, Florida.
Claro has asked the courts to compel the rapper and contentious social media personality to vacate the property in accordance with the dispossessory notice. Banks answered the first official demand for rent, preventing a “clerk’s default” that would have given the landlord the right to evict her right away.
The Harlem native hasn’t paid the required amount to settle her arrears, though. Although the sum was not stated in the records put online, it is reported that Banks is late on her rent by almost $8,000.
The document reads as follows, in accordance with Florida statutes: “The landlord is entitled to an immediate default judgment for the tenant’s removal with a writ of possession to issue without further notice or hearing thereon, and the tenant’s defenses other than payment are waived if the tenant fails to pay the rent into the court registry or to file a motion to determine the amount of rent to be paid into the registry within 5 days [after the date of service of process].”
Stated differently, there is no longer any way for Azealia Banks to stay at the house.
Azealia Banks has gained notoriety since the beginning of the year for her criticism of a wide range of celebrities, including Beyoncé, Doechii, Rihanna, and A$AP Rocky.
Because of her Y2K look, Ice Spice became the most recent musician to find herself in the “212” rapper’s crosshairs.
The Bronx rap sensation, who is currently promoting her new album, posted a sexy video on Instagram on June 24 of herself rapping along to her latest hit, “Phat Butt,” while sporting a long, wavy orange wig and a tight pink dress.
The “212” singer responded angrily to the clip, perhaps offended by the stylistic details in her album title, which was inspired by the turn of the millennium.
Banks posted the footage on her Instagram Stories and stated, “@icespice needs to be informed.” There is nothing at all Y2K about this in terms of appearance, performance, or production value. Similar to the early Nicki Minaj pack weave from VIM.
“We require new facial expressions and hair colors. Freeze I still adore you, but you really ought to press the stop button, give up on David Lachapple, and start over. BBL bodies and big butts are Y2K’s antithesis.
The resident of Harlem then went on to share images of TLC and Jennifer Lopez as examples of the Y2K aesthetic.
After her talk, she wrote, “Baby phat, sidekicks were 2002 and on.” Y2K stands for 1997–2001.
