After Big Meech, a co-founder of the Black Mafia Family, was just released from jail, 50 Cent partnered with him.
The emergence of Meech’s criminal organization in the 1980s and 1990s is the basis for the popular STARZ series BMF from the 1950s. His son, Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr., plays the former kingpin.
It goes without saying that the two have a lot to discuss, and when Fif posted a picture of himself and Meech on Instagram on Sunday (November 17), he hinted that their relationship would revolve around TV and movies.
“Ultimate Hustler edition [camera emoji] GreenLight Gang [clapper board emoji] Action, rolling, and camera speed. Big MEECH BMF,” 50 wrote.
Three years after his 2005 arrest, Big Meech was found guilty. For operating an ongoing criminal enterprise and money laundering, he received a 30-year prison sentence. He is completing the balance of his term under community confinement, allegedly at a halfway home, while he is not in federal prison.
Meech’s anticipated release date from the halfway house is January 27, 2026, based on records from the Bureau of Prisons.
Founded in Detroit, the Black Mafia Family (BMF) was a drug trafficking organization that mostly operated in Atlanta and Los Angeles. They have a related entertainment business as well.
Amendment 821 of the US Criminal Code allowed Meech to have 32 months of his sentence reduced in February of this year, highlighting his rehabilitation behind bars.
Meech’s lawyer submitted the motion to the Eastern District of Michigan in early January, requesting a “retroactive application” of sentencing guidelines, according to court records that HipHopDX was able to get.
In brief, attorneys contended that the former BMF leader should be released because he had been an excellent citizen during his incarceration, earning his GED, performing well in his other classes, and avoiding trouble since 2021. This earned him credit for his sentence under U.S.S.G. (United States Sentencing Guidelines) Amendment 782.
Days before the third season of 50 Cent and the BMF program even debuted, the show was renewed for a fourth season earlier this year. Although a debut date has not yet been set, it is anticipated to occur in the spring of 2025.
