At a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 13, a gunman appeared to be attempting to kill former President Donald Trump. According to a CNN story, Trump was hurt during the event and his right ear is still being looked into.
Many people voiced their opinions as soon as the shooting was reported. Some chose to convey their feelings about the former president’s response with lighthearted jokes, while others thought the shooting was a fake intended to attract attention.
“At the next rally, Trump needs to be introduced to ‘Many Men’ by 50 Cent,” joked a user on the platform that was formerly known as Twitter. “Listen up: Trump appoints 50 Cent as vice president! “They can wear bulletproof vests and walk out to every rally with ‘Many Men’ playing in the background!” shouted another.
The words, “Now it’s clear that I’m here for a real reason, cause he got hit like I got hit but he ain’t f**king breathing,” were shared by a user along with a side-by-side photo of Donald Trump and John F. Kennedy.
Not one to let his name pass unnoticed, 50 Cent joined in on the joke as well. The Queens rapper posted a video of himself performing one of his iconic songs on X, along with a picture of Trump raising his fist in the air after the massacre. His caption says, “I know the vibes we are all in trouble now!” With lightning speed, he sang the song in Boston later that night, using an altered picture of Trump’s face from the cover of his first album, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, as the background.
“50 Cent has a keen sense of business. After 20 years of release, many guys will sell… watch,” a fan commented on the performance. Paradoxically, a few weeks ago, 50 Cent posted on social media that he thought Trump will win the presidency once more.
