According to reports, Travis Scott and his security got into a confrontation, leading to his arrest in Paris.

A security officer at the upscale George V Hotel is said to have been struck by Scott when he attempted to break up an ongoing altercation between the rapper and his bodyguard.

French prosecutors reportedly informed Reuters and AFP that they had launched a criminal inquiry into Travis for “unspecified violence” against the guard, according to BBC News.

“I can confirm that on August 9, 2024, police officers were called to the George V hotel and arrested the rapper nicknamed Travis Scott for assaulting a security guard,” Parisian prosecutors added in a statement to NBC News.

“The rapper and his bodyguard were separated by the security guard who stepped in.” The file has been forwarded to the 1st district of the judicial police by the Paris public prosecutor’s office, the statement continued.

Travis Scott has not yet responded to the incident. On Thursday night, August 8, he was spotted in the French capital for the Olympic basketball game between the United States and Serbia.

Only two months have passed since La Flame was charged with disorderly drunkenness and trespassing in Miami.

The disorderly drunkenness allegation was later dismissed, but the prosecution is continuing with the trespassing charge, which is punishable by up to $500 in fines and/or 60 days in jail.

Trespassing in a structure is punishable by up to a year in jail and is classified as a first-degree misdemeanor if someone is inside the building when it happens.

As previously mentioned, Travis Scott was taken into custody in the early hours of June 20 at the Miami Beach Marina after he allegedly caused a “disturbance” on a charter boat.

Police added, “He was intoxicated, causing a disturbance, and asked to leave multiple times.”

According to recently released bodycam evidence, Scott told the police that they “scared” him and that they were being too harsh with their tactics.

In the video, Scott was seen disputing with police about allegedly breaking into a yacht to get his stuff. Four officers then detained and held Scott before escorting him into a patrol car.

On September 10, Scott is scheduled to go on trial for the trespassing accusation.
