Local rapper Skilla Baby claims that Eminem isn’t the best rapper in Detroit.

Emerging on the Infant, Skilla asserted that this is the Keke Palmer podcast during a conversation about the greatest rapper from the Motor City.

“Eminem is the best rapper in Detroit by a wide margin, but no one in Detroit would ever say that,” he remarked.

The rapper known as “Bae” continued, saying, “Everyone took a turn being the favorite rapper in Detroit. There were turns for Sada Baby, Tee Grizzley, Babyface Ray, Veeze, one of Detroit’s top rappers, and Baby Smoove. It was everyone’s turn to be the greatest in the city. We are deficient in consistency. No one has ever been the go-to rapper in Detroit.

Returning to Slim Shady, he remarked, “Eminem leads in numbers, but no one in Detroit is playing Eminem at the moment, and I was an Eminem fan growing up. Although I love Eminem, is he really our best rapper? Detroit, in my opinion, does not.

Later, Skilla Baby provided an update on Instagram, elaborating on his remarks, saying, “Of course, I can’t forget Kash Doll, Big Sean, and Dej [Loaf]; Detroit is full of great rappers.”

The 25-year-old omitted several well-known Detroit celebrities from his list, such as Icewear Vezzo, Danny Brown, Boldy James, 42 DuggBabyTron, Royce Da 5’9′′, and BabyTron.

Vezzo has once asserted that Em had grown estranged from the present Detroit rap scene.

He said to HipHopDX in 2020, “For us, it felt like Eminem was out of touch, so he wasn’t somebody we could actually relate to.” “We never had communication with Eminem. Yes, [Eminem] was a hero to us back when he first came out, in the hood, in our ghettos and all that.

“Em is no longer a hero to us because we always wanted him to play the position that Royce Da 5’9′′ played, but he doesn’t. Royce Da 5’9” is from the ghetto and is comparable to the head of the Marshall Mathers Foundation.

“He’s going to emerge; you can see him. He reached out to us after fucking with n-ggas and checking in with us. He would also pull up to the studio and the club.
