The Compton rapper recorded his line for the song “Bad Blood (Remix)” in 2023, marking the two artists’ previous collaboration.

Kendrick Lamar emerged from hiding in March with a guest verse on “Like That.” He then announced that he would be the main act at the Super Bowl LIX and released a slew of diss tunes directed at Drake. Since then, speculation about his upcoming album has been rife, in part because of a teaser that surfaced at the start of July’s “Not Like Us” music video and his associates at Top Dawg Entertainment.

An interview with DJ Snake that surfaced online on Tuesday, November 19, implied that Taylor Swift might be included on the Compton lyricist’s next album. The record producer said, “World premiere.”

Given that DJ Snake hasn’t previously worked with Lamar or Swift, social media was naturally dubious of the claims. One Twitter user said, “I’ve never heard of anyone in recent memory getting their hands on a Kendrick album feature list.”

Swift wrote the “Alright” rapper a thank-you message in October 2023 for re-recording his verse on her 2015 song “Bad Blood (Remix),” which was featured on the pop singer’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version) Deluxe.

The experience of witnessing [Lamar] compose and record his verses on the “Bad Blood (Remix)” was among the most motivating moments of my life. I’m still really proud of this partnership and thankful for how Kendrick improved the song and how he treats everyone around him,” Swift said.

“You forgive, you forget, but you never let it go,” the audience would chant whenever he performed on “The Eras Tour.” “Go,” she added with a smile. “I find it unbelievable and perplexing that Kendrick would go back in and re-record ‘Bad Blood’ so that I could take back and own this work of which I’m so proud.”

Devin Malik and SZA have hinted at a potential new album by Kendrick Lamar thus far. The Grammy Award-winning rapper ScHoolboy Q was rumored by fans to be one of “two more” artists that would be releasing music shortly.
