Stacia Mac, the manager and mother of Polo G, made the announcement on Saturday, June 29, that she had applied for a domestic violence restraining order against Leilani Capalot, her daughter.
Following an incident in April during what the musician’s sister characterized as a “manic episode,” Mac fired warning rounds at her. This prompted the legal action. In multiple instances, Leilani made false, slanderous, and defamatory claims against her mother, according to documentation that the founder of ODA Management supplied. She presented texts taken out of context and altered them in order to cast Stacia in a bad light.
Mac wrote Leilani a note on her Instagram Story as well. “The sharing of the truth and peace are the only things I desire. I won’t be arguing back and forth. Going ahead, my legal team and attorneys will handle [the situation],” Mac wrote.
She went on, “Leilani, nothing you ever do or say will make me stop loving you. I promise.” “You won’t get a hug or love from the internet. You’re looking for approval from an unreal location.
Shortly after, Polo G’s sister answered with a few remarks of her own. This woman is genuinely very ill and miserable! You threaten me and ask for a protective order. You obtain a restraining order and reveal my records,” she wrote. “Grandma, nobody is thinking about you. Then, we actually reside in two separate states! Two [crowds] apart. Two distinct circles. Perhaps you wouldn’t have to worry about running into me if you [weren’t] 45 trying to hang [with] folks my age, Capalot went on.
Leilani further charged Mac with fabricating articles for blogs and neglecting to pay the Chicago rapper’s brother, Taurean Bartlett, a murder charge stemming from his role in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles. “You’re insane! Are you the cops or are you a gangsta? You can’t have it both ways,” she declared.
Polo G has mostly kept quiet about the situation the entire time. He is preparing for the August 2 release of HOOD POET, which will be available on streaming platforms. To build excitement for the album, the singer has so far released tracks including “Barely Holdin’ On,” “Distraction,” and “Angels In The Sky.”
