50 Cent asserts that JAY-Z’s Roc Nation is the reason he nearly missed out on Dr. Dre’s renowned Super Bowl set in 2022.
As The Hollywood Reporter’s most recent cover star, 50 thought back on the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show, which included performances by Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Kendrick Lamar, as well as why he was never mentioned.
“They [Roc Nation] tried to exclude me from it. He claimed, “They didn’t want me there.” Eminem couldn’t accomplish it without me, though. I ended up on the show because if I hadn’t done it, he wouldn’t have come. You think to yourself, “Damn, so you just lost Eminem because you didn’t bring 50?” when that occurs. Damn. Fine. Next, bring fifty.
But they wouldn’t have me there if it were up to them. The surprise is me. Not at all on the bill is me. But without me, they were unable to convince Em to do it.
There has never been a good relationship between 50 Cent and Jay-Z. Hov was recently drawn into Fif’s trolling campaign against Diddy, who is facing numerous sexual assault cases. This happened earlier this year.
In an Instagram post from May, 50 made fun of Jay’s public quiet over the legal issues facing the Bad Boy CEO and claimed that he was purposefully keeping quiet.
Fif shared a negative close-up picture of the Roc Nation billionaire with the caption, “Jay is hibernating and won’t come out till this stuff with puff blows over. There will be no breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I’m all yours; I’m outside.
50 was alluding to JAY-Z’s decision to postpone this year’s Roc Nation Brunch, an annual event that usually attracts Diddy and other high-profile celebs before the Grammy Awards.
50 Cent has previously attacked JAY-Z in relation to Diddy’s alleged sexual assaults, which the founder of Bad Boy Records has denied.
The G-Unit leader posted a picture of a milk container in March that had Hov’s face altered into the place of the missing kids’ commercial.
Has anyone seen J? Haha. Puff claimed that the [ninja emoji] was not returning his calls. LOL,” he joked in the caption of the image, implying that Jigga had abandoned his close friend in a time of need.
A deepfake video from the movie New Jack City was later published by 50, in which the faces of stars Wesley Snipes and Ice-T were subtly changed to resemble Puffy and Hov, respectively.
Below the courtroom video, he added, “This thing is bigger than Nino Brown.” LOL, New Jack Diddy.
The rapper “In Da Club” seems to be insinuating in his post that JAY-Z knew something about Diddy’s alleged crimes of sex trafficking and sexual assault.
Regarding the accusations made against Diddy by a number of people, including his ex-girlfriend Cassie and producer Lil Rod of The Love Album, Jay has not yet responded.
