2 Chainz is taking his investment in a cannabis company to court in an attempt to recoup his money.
The latest Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit, which was first reported by Law 360, claims that in 2021, 2 Chainz paid $1.5 million into a cannabis company in Los Angeles, to which he was introduced by Snoop Dogg’s tour manager.
According to the complaint, he was assured that he may request a refund at any time as long as he gave notice of 30 days in advance. In May 2022, he made an attempt to achieve that, but the business apparently refused to pay.
2 Chainz requested the reimbursement after the company allegedly postponed its launch date by almost a full year.
The lawsuit continues by claiming that the rapper texted the company’s co-founder directly in late 2022 asking for his money back, only to be informed that his contract was no longer valid.
In recent months, Chainz has also made wise commercial choices, such as forming a partnership with Smoothie King.
Smoothie King said at the end of June that he and another franchisee have partnered to create a new kiosk at the Georgia State Farm Arena, home of the hit song “I’m Different.” On June 26, the day the venue hosted the Atlanta Hawks 2024 NBA Draft Party, the ordering device was scheduled to premiere.
Smoothie King CEO Wan Kim stated of the new agreement, “As we continue to expand, we’re thrilled to welcome 2 Chainz to our franchisee family — not to mention in collaboration with one of our great partners in the Atlanta Hawks.”
